Year-roundWe sit in the heart of the Lincoln Lakes Region — 13 lakes in neighboring Lincoln alone, over 4,300 acres of water, and 19 miles of frontage on the Penobscot River, one of the finest smallmouth bass fisheries anywhere. Troll Cold Stream Pond, 112 feet deep, for landlocked salmon, wild lake trout, and brook trout; work Mattanawcook Pond and the Caribou–Long–Egg pond chain for smallmouth; or stay close to camp on Silver Lake, stocked each fall by the state with 13-inch brook trout and full of white perch and pickerel.
Swimming & Boating
SummerCole's Landing on Silver Lake is under a mile away — a 6-acre day park with a public beach, picnic areas, restrooms, changing rooms, and a boat ramp. Keep your boat at the campground and trailer it to the launch.
Canoeing & Kayaking
Spring – FallExplore the lakes and waterways of the Lincoln Lakes Region at your own pace. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one of ours.
Hunting
Aug – DecThree of Maine's Wildlife Management Districts — WMDs 11, 18, and 19 — meet right here in Lee, so one basecamp covers all three zones. Black bear season runs late August into November, with hunting over bait the first four weeks and hounds into late October. Whitetail deer hunters get archery through October, then the firearms season all November. Moose permits are lottery-drawn, and all three local districts hold bull hunts in both the September and October seasons. Ruffed grouse and woodcock round out the fall, and experienced local guides can be arranged.
Snowmobiling
WinterLocal clubs maintain trails that connect directly to Maine's ITS trail system. Take a long haul or a short scenic loop, then come back to a warm, cozy cabin.
Ice Fishing
WinterCombine a snowmobile ride with a day on the ice. With an ice shack on the lake and a heated cabin waiting, winter fishing doesn't get more comfortable.
Hiking & Baxter State Park
Spring – FallWander quiet wooded trails right on the property, or day-trip to Baxter State Park and the surrounding North Woods for some of the best hiking in the Northeast.
